Native Women's Association of Canada is a National Indigenous Organization representing the political voice of Indigenous women, girls and gender-diverse people in Canada, inclusive of First Nations on and off reserve, status and non-status, disenfranchised, Métis and Inuit. They were founded on the collective goal to enhance, promote and foster the social, economic, cultural and political well-being of Indigenous women within their respective communities and Canada societies.
**Purpose**
Reporting to the CHRO, the Recruiter will lead the human resources recruiting processes of the organization in collaboration with the HR Manager and the other staff of the Human Resources department.
**Scope**
The Recruiter will help develop a recruiting framework suited to the unique needs of the organization and work hands on in all aspects of recruiting and onboarding. The Recruiter will work closely with IT support to ensure all new employees receive laptops, cell phones and other NWAC equipment as requested, in a timely manner.
**General Duties**
- Provide recruiting and onboarding human resources support and advice to the organization. Manage the organization’s recruiting process;
- Review internal recruiting processes and develop, implement and maintain a recruiting plan suited to the unique needs of the organization while ensuring the organization respects its Indigenous preferences policy;
- Manage the recruiting of the organization in collaboration with the CEO, the Human Resources department and other departments;
- Assist in the development of gender and culturally sensitive HR recruitment processes and training packages;
- Providing coaching to other directors or staff as needed on HR recruiting;
- Maintain communication within the organization on new recruits and their role at NWAC;
- Maintain a close working relationship with our IT support to coordinate the delivery of laptops, cell phones and other NWAC equipment;
- Other related duties as required;
**Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Undergraduate degree in human resources, accounting and /or related discipline including project management. Master’s Degree is considered an asset.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in human resources, recruitment and program coordination
- Experience and proficiency in staffing planning, developing, implementing, and evaluation.
- Ability to respectfully work with all other teams at NWAC;
- Capacity to monitor a large number of project files;
- Ability to develop recommendations to support senior management with their decision-making processes with policy directions;

**Assets**
- Fluency in English is essential. French is a strong asset. Knowledge of Indigenous language is an asset.
