Nu Edge Construction Ltd. is currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Camrose, Alberta .
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered apprentice looking to develop their skills while working alongside experienced Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technicians in a busy heavy civil construction environment.
The successful candidate will assist with the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment, trucks, and support equipment.
Assist with diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy construction equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Assist Journeyman Technicians with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain repairs
Troubleshoot equipment issues and help identify required repairs
Complete oil changes, filter changes, lubrication, inspections, and general servicing
Assist with repairs both in the shop and, when required, in the field
Follow Nu Edge safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
Perform additional duties as required to support the maintenance department
Registered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice in Alberta
Previous experience working with heavy equipment, construction equipment, trucks, or related machinery is considered an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with an acceptable driver's abstract
Ability to perform physically demanding work in both shop and outdoor environments
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
