What you will do:

Reporting to the Manager, Licensing and Standards, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Enforce the regulations of the Snow and Ice By-law on all city sidewalks through the issuance of orders and tickets and by facilitating sidewalk clean-ups.
  • When violations are observed, interact directly with person(s) to ensure compliance with by-laws is achieved
  • Manually and electronically record information/facts with respect to investigation.
  • Enforce parking restrictions on all city streets, private property, and City parking lots through the issuance of penalty notices (parking tickets).
  • Provide back-up to other enforcement officers as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Police Foundations, Law and Security or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years experience in municipal law enforcement, security and/or other municipal operations; an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, to deal effectively with the public in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to properly complete documentation.
  • Strong task management skills and ability to complete work within deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Offi
