Become a Snow and Ice Law Enforcement Officer at the City of Waterloo. In this temporary full-time role, you will ensure compliance with city regulations on sidewalks and streets while actively engaging with the community. Reporting directly to the Manager of Licensing and Standards, this position involves enforcing the Snow and Ice By-law, conducting parking enforcement, and maintaining public safety. With a focus on exceptional customer service, you'll interact with residents directly while issuing orders and tickets. Your ability to document cases accurately and manage tasks effectively will be key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce Snow and Ice By-law regulations on sidewalks
- Issue tickets for parking violations on city streets
- Facilitate sidewalk clean-ups and engage with residents
- Record investigation facts manually and electronically
- Provide backup support to fellow enforcement officers
- Minimum two years in municipal law enforcement
- Post-secondary diploma in Police Foundations or equivalent
- Strong communication skills for public interaction
- Valid ‘G’ class driver’s license in good standing
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
