Join RVH and serve as an Addiction Counsellor in the Supportive Pre-Treatment Program, where you'll provide essential support and counselling to individuals facing substance use challenges. Work in a live-in setting while aiding recovery goals.
Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in Health or Social Science and a specialization in Addiction Studies. Your role will involve individual and group counselling, including crisis and risk management, while collaborating with community partners to ensure comprehensive client care. You’ll also assist in the development of practical life skills for clients in need.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments
• Provide health education in group settings
• Facilitate life skills training and support workshops
• Document admissions and daily progress accurately
• Assist in creating transition plans with community support
Requirements:
• 1-3 years experience with substance use and mental health
• Certification as an Addiction Counsellor (ICAD/CCAC preferred)
• Competence in supportive counselling techniques
• CPR and First Aid certification up to date
