This team builds and maintains the connections that bring external financial data into Wealthsimple. These connections power Transfers, Net Worth, Switch-your-Bank, and other core Wealthsimple experiences. We’re looking for developers who will define how Wealthsimple will integrate with Open Banking in Canada, and how Wealthsimple will bridge our data acquisition from API integrations and scraping to Open Banking solutions. The work involves collaborating with a broad set of product teams on bank account linking, iterating on different data acquisition methods, and working with product, design, data science, data security, and other engineers and managers to help users make Wealthsimple their financial home Experience cutting edge AI use for software development (team-specific Claude plugins, agentic development, LLM integrations that redact sensitive information without degrading functionality) Design systems that degrade gracefully without impacting the user experience Node.js and MongoDB services for scraping and acquisition Ruby, Java/Kotlin, and Python across the broader platform AWS Infra Strong encryption and security practices for sensitive data Early AI-assisted automation that helps generate, maintain, and repair extraction logic Strong computer science fundamentals, industry experience, and a history of designing systems at scale Strong experience using AI tools for software development, learning, and sharing ideas Experience with data acquisition or financial connectivity platforms (e.g., Experience working on financial data models, reconciliation, or ledger-like systems Top-tier health benefits and life insurance Long-term group savings with employer match, through Wealthsimple for Business 20 vacation days, 4 wellness days, and unlimited sick and mental health days per year Employee resource groups, including Rainbow (2SLGBTQ), Women of WS, and Black at WS Technology & Innovation at Wealthsimple: That means we're always looking for better ways to work — whether that's new tools, AI, or rethinking how we approach a problem.
