In October of 2023 De Havilland Aircraft of Canada announced the acquisition of Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2) and Avionics Design Services (ADS). MC2/ADS are comprised of industry leading experts focused on ensuring commercial, charter, special mission and business aircraft operators are equipped with flight decks that provide safety and efficiency. As a premier Canadian aviation maintenance shop, the team of experts works to define avionics requirements to develop and certify solutions that fit each operator’s individual need.
We are searching for a highly motivated, hands-on professional to fill the position of Airworthiness Electrical Engineer. The position is part of Engineering group. and is subordinated to the director of Engineering. The Airworthiness Electrical Engineer will be required to generate electrical analysis and reports, including test reports. The occupant of this position will work in close cooperation with the electrical and avionics delegates, supporting the engineering certification and design activities, including Design Approval Organization (DAO) rulemaking activities. This position ensures that the company deliverables effectively support the company's obligations, including the applicable regulatory requirements. Generate certification and post installation ground and flight tests, performing analysis based on international recognized standards (e.g., Review internal certification documentation for accuracy and content.
Participate in and contribute to discussions surrounding project related design issues and airworthiness planning.
Provide liaison support for installation and troubleshooting.
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology diploma.
Previous TCCA delegation and/or successful completion of the Transport Canada Aircraft Certification Specialty course would be an asset.
Minimum of (7) years progressive aerospace engineering experience in modification design and Supplemental Type Certificate development.
Familiarity with Transport Canada AWM 523, 525, 527 and 529 and similar rules under FAA and EASA authority including aircraft certification guidance and policy documents.
Available for travel (domestic and international) when required
Advanced user knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access). Use of Corel -WordPerfect would be an asset.
