This job opening is limited to residents living within the Tlicho Region. The Tlicho Community Services Agency is a unique organization responsible for the delivery of education, health and social services within the Tlicho region. The Tlicho Community Services Agency's vision 'Strong Like Two People' is a metaphor for the desire by community leadership to build an organization, and create programs and services that recognize the strength and importance of two cultures. The Family Preservation Worker provides direct support to parents and families involved with Child and Family Services (CFS), and reports to the Supervisor, Family Preservation. The position works with families in their homes and communities to strengthen parenting skills, promote healthy family functioning, and support family preservation and reunification. The position serves the four communities of the Tlicho region and works closely with CFS staff, families and community partners. Provide one-to-one support, education and coaching to parents and families. Promote positive parenting, child development and healthy family relationships. Support culturally appropriate parenting practices. Provide advocacy and connect families with community resources. Deliver family-focused workshops and support activities. Participate in collaborative service planning and community-based initiatives. A Diploma in Social Work, Child Development, Youth Care or Early Childhood Education; Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License (or equivalent). 2 years of direct related experience and class 5 driver license ~ Approximately 10% travel may be required, including travel in poor road and weather conditions and by small aircraft Work occurs primarily in family homes and community settings. The salary range for this position is from $49.68per hour to $59.35per hour (approximately $96,876
