The role:


Contributes to the overall success of Marketing for Global Banking and Markets (GBM) globally by executing initiatives that support business strategies, objectives and client engagement priorities. Ensures all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The role provides exposure to senior leaders across GBM and opportunities to take on increasingly strategic responsibilities that support professional development and future advancement within the Marketing organization.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a client-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead the execution of key marketing and client engagement initiatives for GBM, managing multiple projects and providing strategic marketing counsel to stakeholders across business lines.
  • Ensure marketing activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, brand standards and procedures, escalating as required to secure appropriate reviews, signoffs and approvals.
  • Support the development and execution of GBM’s client engagement strategy, including high-impact events, sponsorships and experiences that strengthen client relationships, support business growth and enhance the GBM brand. Partners with business line stakeholders and Marketing relationship managers to identify opportunities, advise on engagement approaches, manage planning and execution, measure outcomes and reinforce governance and best practices.
  • Maintain the Marketing Resource Centre to ensure it aligns with Scotiabank’s brand standards and contains current, accurate materials.
  • Support client and employee gifting initiatives, including product sourcing, inventory management, pre-production processes and rollout across the ScotiaBoutique and custom gifting suite. Coordinates with Lighthouse Production partners to ensure timely execution and alignment with brand standards and business needs.
  • Support Relationship Managers with marketing initiatives across GBM business lines, including advertising, design, invite templates, events and other ad hoc requests.
  • Build strong partnerships across GBM, Global Marketing, Compliance, Legal and external agencies to influence stakeholders, drive alignment and deliver business outcomes.

  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations within the role’s areas of responsibility, ensuring adequate day-to-day controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including responsibilities under applicable Bank frameworks, handbooks and guidelines.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree, preferably in marketing, communications or business administration, and/or 5+ years of marketing experience.
  • MBA or post-graduate degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid understanding of the financial services industry, including relevant compliance regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to take initiative and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Confident interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders and perspectives.
