Our client in the non-profit sector is looking for a Senior Systems Admin on a contract basis to work on their M365, Security, Network support and initiatives.

Duration:
6 months

Location:
3d - 5d/week at Toronto downtown location

Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Administration :

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain the organization's M365 environment (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Oversee security configurations, user provisioning, and access control within Microsoft 365.
  • Ensure data protection policies (DLP, encryption, and retention policies) are properly configured and maintained.

Security Management :

  • Implement and manage security protocols across the M365 environment (MFA, conditional access, etc.).
  • Perform regular audits and risk assessments of M365 and network systems to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Ensure the organization is compliant with NIST cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
  • Monitor for and respond to security incidents, including unauthorized access and phishing attempts.

Network Administration :

  • Maintain, support, and optimize the organization's network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Configure and manage network security devices (firewalls, switches, routers) and related security protocols.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Cybersecurity :

  • Collaborate with the security team to implement cybersecurity policies and practices.
  • Support the deployment of network security solutions and endpoint protection systems.
  • Assist in incident response planning and execution, as well as disaster recovery planning.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and advise on potential impacts to the network and systems.

NIST Compliance :

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of NIST cybersecurity controls.
  • Contribute to the organization's NIST compliance efforts by developing and maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in security assessments and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with NIST standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in systems admin/engineering role, with a focus on Microsoft 365, and security operations.
  • 5+ years experience in network administration, experience with Aruba wireless
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and NIST cybersecurity framework
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified:
    Enterprise Administrator Expert, CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.
