pre-construction design and engineering assistance, rapid response to quotation requests, cost-saving opportunities, precision manufacturing, on‑time delivery, and client support throughout the life cycle of the project. The Delivery Driver at DESA Glass is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of materials, products, and equipment to various project sites and locations. This role involves loading and unloading goods, verifying delivery accuracy, maintaining delivery records, and communicating effectively with clients and internal teams to confirm successful deliveries. Assistance with warehouse tasks such as inventory management or preparation of outgoing shipments, supporting the smooth flow of operations within DESA Glass. Transport glass, glazing materials, and related products to customers and job sites, ensuring on‑time delivery. Follow company and client‑specific protocols for handling and delivering fragile materials. Safely operate a picker crane mounted on the delivery truck to load, transport, and unload glass and other heavy materials. Conduct pre‑operation inspections to ensure the equipment is in proper working order. Maintain accurate records of crane usage and promptly report any malfunctions or issues. Follow all safety protocols related to crane and vehicle operation, as well as the handling of fragile and heavy materials. Comply with transportation laws and regulations, including securing loads and adhering to weight limits. Ensure materials are loaded securely to prevent damage during transit. Professionally interact with clients and site contacts during deliveries to provide a positive experience. Address on‑site customer concerns or questions, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary. Perform routine maintenance checks on the delivery truck and crane to ensure safe and efficient operation. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and equipment maintenance or repairs. Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably with experience in operating specialized equipment such as picker cranes. Hands‑on experience handling and transporting fragile materials, such as glass or similar products, in a construction or logistics environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification or proven experience in operating a picker crane. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with Air Brakes or Q Endorsement and a clean driving record. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to crane and delivery truck operations. Knowledge of best practices for handling glass and other fragile materials. Excellent communication skills with a focus on professionalism and customer service. Familiarity with local roads, traffic regulations, and efficient delivery route planning. Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor maintenance or repairs on trucks and crane equipment. Attention to detail to ensure safe handling and accurate delivery of fragile materials. Strong problem‑solving skills to address on‑site challenges and equipment issues. Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse and operations staff. Comfortable performing physical tasks such as loading and unloading materials, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods. Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
