This is an office-based position located in Edmonton or Calgary.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The AIC is seeking a strategic, values-driven, collaborative leader who excels at turning priorities into action. You bring experience leading complex initiatives, strengthening governance frameworks, and working across teams to deliver organizational objectives. You are comfortable operating in a regulatory environment, navigating ambiguity, and balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on outcomes.
You have strong expertise in strategic planning, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and organizational improvement. Whether modernizing policy frameworks, leading enterprise initiatives, or gathering stakeholder input, you bring structure, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.

THE ROLE Reporting to the CFO & VP Corporate Services, this role works closely with the Executive Team and leaders across the organization to advance strategic priorities, strengthen governance, support organizational effectiveness, and ensure stakeholder perspectives are considered in decision-making.
The Senior Manager provides leadership and support for cross-functional initiatives, business planning and performance measurement, modernizes AIC's corporate policy framework, and leads stakeholder engagement strategy and activities that support informed decision-making. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence outcomes without direct supervisory authority.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Initiatives Provide leadership and support for enterprise-wide initiatives aligned with AIC's strategic plan and organizational priorities. Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, governance structures, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Support business planning, performance measurement, and organizational reporting. Policy Governance Lead the development, modernization, and maintenance of AIC's corporate policy framework, ensuring policies, procedures, and SOPs remain current, accessible, and aligned with legislative and organizational requirements. Provide policy guidance and conduct research and benchmarking to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement. Stakeholder Engagement Lead AIC's stakeholder engagement strategy, including events and consultation activities that support regulatory and organizational objectives. Design and implement engagement activities, analyze feedback, and provide recommendations that support informed decision-making. Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders, partners, and regulatory organizations. Operational Leadership Develop and manage budget, reporting, and performance measures, for the business unit, providing strategic recommendations to the Executive Team. Identify risks, barriers, and opportunities and recommend practical solutions that support organizational success. Support a collaborative, values-driven culture and contribute to AIC's ongoing success. Success Measures: Stakeholder engagement informs regulatory decisions, organizational planning, and decision-making. Successful delivery of strategic initiatives aligned with organizational priorities. Corporate policy and governance frameworks are current, practical, and consistently applied. Performance measures support continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. Risks are proactively identified and managed. THE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, political science, policy, or a related field. 10+ years’ progressive experience in strategic initiatives, policy development, stakeholder engagement, corporate affairs, governance, or a related environment. 4+ years’ experience leading complex projects, initiatives, or cross-functional work.
