Job Overview
As a Field Service Representative at Delong America, you are responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for scientific equipment sold by Delong America. This role involves regular travel to customer sites internationally (the majority of travel is within Canada and the United States) to ensure proper functioning and performance of the equipment. Successful applicants will need to be based in Montreal. You will work closely with customers, providing training and troubleshooting assistance to ensure optimal utilization of the products.
 
Core Responsibilities
Install and test scientific equipment at customer sites.
Conduct preventive maintenance and perform repairs on equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Train customers on the operation, calibration, and maintenance of the equipment.
Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, remote consoles, or on-site visits.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports and internal guides and documentation.
Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, technical advancements, and industry trends.
This position requires up to 75% overnight travel within Canada and the United States as well as international travel as required.
 
Qualifications
Technical Degree in Electronics or similar discipline.
Analog and Digital electronics knowledge.
Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and technical documentation.
Proficient in soldering and have fine mechanical skills with hand tools.
Previous experience in a similar field service role a plus, preferably with scientific instrumentation or electron microscopes.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and travel frequently to customer sites.
Ability to lift up to 25kg regularly and occasionally up to 50kg with help.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Have a valid driver's license.
Have a valid passport.
Have the authorization to work in Canada.
Ability to travel to and work in the United States and internationally.
