Join John Abbott College as the Coordinator for ALC Inuit Programs in August 2026. Your primary focus will be to ensure student success and engagement in the Inuit DEC program through a supportive and organized approach. Working under the Dean of Indigenous Education, this role involves interacting closely with students and the Kativik Schoolboard to provide essential support throughout their educational experiences. The position combines student guidance, program coordination, and cultural immersion, making it crucial for candidates to have firsthand experience with Inuit or First Nations communities. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct students during orientation and program navigation
- Monitor academic success and provide necessary interventions
- Collaborate with various departments for program planning
- Recruit instructors with Inuit cultural expertise
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project timelines
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, ideally Education
- Direct experience supporting Inuit or First Nations students
- Strong project coordination skills with budget oversight
- Autonomous, creative, and motivated
- Fluency in English; Inuktitut is a valuable asset
