Fire resistance testing expertise meets project coordination in Burnaby, BC, supporting QAI Laboratories’ building products testing and technical reporting work. Lead assemblies, analyze data, and guide testing with accuracy.
QAI Laboratories seeks a Project Specialist to independently perform fire resistance and building system testing. The work includes firestop, door assembly, exterior wall, and non-combustibility testing under stated standards. You will manage projects, support audits, prepare reports, and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fire resistance and building system testing
- Lead test assembly setup, fabrication, and construction
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports
- Troubleshoot testing issues and interpret standards
- Manage projects and mentor junior staff
Requirements:
- Technical diploma, degree, or equivalent field experience
- Three or more years’ construction, fabrication, or laboratory experience
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and test standards
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy materials
