Join Framestore as an FX Technical Director and bring naturalistic and magical phenomena to life using Houdini and Maya in a collaborative, innovative studio environment. As a key player in our award-winning team, you'll create sophisticated simulations of fire, water, and destruction while applying your expertise in lighting and shaders. This role involves close cooperation with other departments to ensure every visual effect meets the highest quality standards and enhances storytelling in cinema. Key Responsibilities:
- Create simulations for particles, rigid bodies, and fluids
- Apply lighting and shaders for final rendered images
- Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality shots
- Design procedural solutions for visual effects
- Produce reviewable composites and final renders
- Strong knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya
- Experience with effects like smoke, fire, and explosions
- Understanding of animation techniques and visual effects
- Familiarity with compositing applications like Nuke
- Scripting skills in Vex, hscript, and/or Mel
