Torn Banner Studios is a Toronto, Canada-based independent game development studio founded in 2010. Medieval Warfare, a multi-million copy selling title that redefined melee combat in gaming. Today, our team of around 100 developers is dedicated to creating unique, challenging, and fun gaming experiences. We are seeking an experienced Senior Engine Programmer to play a key role in developing and maintaining the core technology that powers our games. You will work with Unreal Engine, tackling technical challenges related to performance, stability, scalability, and platform support. This role requires strong collaboration with programmers, designers, artists, and technical specialists to deliver robust solutions that enable the team to create exceptional player experiences. Candidates must currently reside in Ontario or Quebec, or be willing to relocate to Ontario. Profile, analyze, and improve performance across all target platforms. Collaborate with gameplay programmers and cross-disciplinary teams to develop creative technical solutions. Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, tools, pipelines, and engine architecture. Contribute to the stability, maintainability, and long-term evolution of the codebase. Share knowledge through documentation, code reviews, and technical discussions. Help foster a collaborative, positive, and quality-focused engineering culture. 5+ years of professional game programming experience. ~ Strong proficiency in modern C++. ~ Solid understanding of game engine architecture, software design patterns, and performance-conscious programming. ~ Experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing code for performance and memory usage. ~ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges ~ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). ~ Experience shipping games on PC and/or console platforms. Bonus Experience developing multiplayer games using dedicated server architecture.
