Job Description: Our client in the financial services industry is looking for a Senior Default Specialist (Mortgages) to join their team for a full-time permanent role.

Reporting to the Manager of Default Management, this position is essential in overseeing accounts throughout the default and foreclosure process. It requires close coordination with the bank's default attorneys and property managers to effectively manage all legal proceedings and foreclosure stages. The (Senior) Default Specialist will play a key role in minimizing financial losses and protecting the bank's reputation.

This is a hybrid role (3 days in office), offers 3 weeks vacation, a bonus structure, a full benefits plan, RRSP matching and more

Oversee mortgage accounts in default and foreclosure, ensuring all processes are handled efficiently and on time.
Ensure foreclosure activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with default attorneys to oversee legal proceedings, including initiating and managing foreclosure actions while ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for all default accounts, ensuring proper documentation is saved and managed.
Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, including mortgage servicing standards and foreclosure laws.

3-5+ years of experience in a mortgage default or mortgage foreclosure role preforming similar duties.
~ A degree or diploma in a related field.
~ Strong understanding of mortgage servicing regulations, default management processes, and investor/insurer guidelines.
~ In-depth knowledge of Canadian foreclosure laws, legal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
~ Strong MS Office Suite skills.
