Director, Community Infrastructure

We are seeking a Director of Community Infrastructure to oversee, plan, and manage all aspects of housing, public works, and emergency management with a First Nation. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and play a critical role in advancing the Nation's strategic goals, including community development and infrastructure enhancement. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage infrastructure projects, including housing, public works, and emergency services. Develop operational systems to ensure the quality, budgeting, and timeliness of infrastructure projects. Participate in strategic planning sessions as part of the senior management team. Conduct community land use planning and draft work plans for new projects. Prepare bids, review applications, and manage contracts and MOUs. Identify structural and health & safety concerns and recommend solutions. Research funding opportunities and develop proposals. Coordinate staff and community training programs related to housing and infrastructure. Communicate with external stakeholders such as government bodies and financial agencies. Monitor budgets and prepare detailed reports. Qualifications: Certification in Emergency Management, Business/Financial Management, Property Management, or equivalent experience. Proven expertise in construction, development, maintenance processes, and asset/emergency management. Familiarity with Federal and Provincial codes, regulations, and service agreements. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and applicable software tools. Capability to work independently while demonstrating professionalism and discretion. Collaboration and teamwork skills. Strong interpersonal relationship-building abilities. Perseverance and resilience in challenging environments. A results-oriented approach and commitment to accountability. High level of integrity and transparency. Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and vehicle (with the ability to travel as needed). Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and evenings when necessary.
