BIOTECH / FERMENTATION GROUP Our yeast-based specialty fermentation nutrient portfolio supports the biotechnology and industrial fermentation sectors. With expanded R&D capabilities and the launch of our Lalmedia range, we are accelerating growth in this space. We are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead commercial expansion in North America for our specialty fermentation nutrients. POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Global Biotech Commercial Director, this role is responsible for territory sales to manufacturers of probiotics, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic media, and other biotech applications. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of technical expertise, strategic sales acumen, and market development capabilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with strategic goals Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients Identify and pursue new business opportunities and collaborations Provide technical consultation and product positioning support Capture and relay market intelligence and competitive insights Manage leads and opportunities via CRM (Dynamics 365) Align pricing strategies with group guidelines and negotiate effectively Represent Lallemand at trade shows and industry events Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and R&D Deliver on sales targets and margin objectives Prepare annual budgets and analyze sales performance Support client forecasting and order fulfillment processes TECHNICAL SKILLS Required Technical/Scientific education with a degree in microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related disciplines An asset 3 yrs commercial experience (sales, account management, or similar) ideally in industrial fermentation or other biotechnology fields PERSONAL ABILITIES Required Interpersonal/client relationship – communication, listening, and influencing skills Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset Comfortable navigating complex technical discussions with clients GENERAL CRITERIA Required Valid passport, up to 40% travel (occasionally international for internal meetings, conferences, and other industry events as required)
