The Journeyman Mechanic at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy trucks and construction equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Working independently and collaboratively with the maintenance team, the Journeyman Mechanic applies advanced technical expertise to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems while performing preventative maintenance and major repairs. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and minimizing equipment downtime in a fast-paced construction environment.

Assess work orders, diagnose faults and malfunctions by examining the vehicle, using testing equipment, and carrying out test drives
Dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace worn or damaged parts
Reassemble, adjust and test new or repaired components
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
Help develop Heavy-Duty Technician apprentices
Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic trade qualification is required
Red-Seal Certification is preferred
A minimum of a valid class 5 Provincial driver's license
Cummins experience is an asset
