Join Boyle Street Community Services as a Crisis Diversion Worker, providing essential support to individuals in crisis across the community. Your role involves crisis intervention, risk assessments, and transportation to necessary services in a full-time capacity. As a key member of the 24/7 Crisis Diversion Team, you'll utilize your expertise to address crises related to mental health, intoxication, or homelessness. This position demands a minimum of two years in community service, strong referral skills, and the ability to engage with marginalized populations constructively. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for individuals in crisis
- Provide on-call crisis intervention and support connections to services
- Make referrals to housing and health services as needed
- Administer overdose techniques and harm reduction tactics
- Operate the Crisis Diversion Van for safe transportation
- Valid class non-GDL 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
- Post-secondary degree in Social Work or relevant experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in community-based services
- Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in future courses
- Recent Police Check and Child and Youth Intervention Check
