Vancouver BC, Canada Humans of HR Full time

Are you passionate about creating safe, healthy workplaces where people can do their best work? We're supporting a well-established Canadian organization in finding an Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to help elevate and strengthen safety practices across multiple sites. In this role, you'll partner closely with site leaders, frontline teams, and senior management to develop, monitor, and continuously improve safety programs. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, coaching teams, and building practical systems that genuinely support injury prevention and employee wellbeing. What You'll Do Collaborate with site managers to address inspection findings, implement corrective actions, and ensure ongoing compliance with health & safety requirements. Conduct site risk assessments and hazard analyses; recommend practical solutions that reduce injuries and improve overall safety performance. Support managers in maintaining clear, effective health & safety programs that are easy to follow and grounded in prevention. Lead or participate in safety committees, contributing ideas, training topics, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Deliver training to staff and supervisors on safety procedures, emergency response, and best practices. Complete workplace incident investigations and support follow-up actions to prevent recurrence. Carry out annual audits of assigned sites and provide guidance to ensure alignment with regulatory standards. Review health & safety legislation, stay current on industry trends, and integrate updates into internal programs. Track and analyze safety data, identify trends, and recommend program improvements. Contribute to the development and refinement of safety manuals, policies, and procedures. Champion a positive safety culture across the organization. What You Bring Education in Occupational Health & Safety (certificate, diploma, or equivalent experience). 1–2 years of experience in a health & safety role, ideally supporting multiple sites or departments. Knowledge or experience in areas such as confined space awareness and working alone protocols. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems proactively. Solid communication and presentation skills — comfortable supporting, coaching, and training others. Ability to work independently while building strong, collaborative relationships. High level of professionalism and discretion — able to handle sensitive information appropriately. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Who You Are You're thoughtful, open, and committed to doing the right thing. You build strong relationships and communicate with clarity and respect. You value diverse perspectives and treat everyone with fairness and empathy. You take accountability, handle conflict constructively, and focus on meaningful solutions. You naturally promote safety and wellbeing in every environment you step into.
