We are now looking for a Waste Barge Deckhand to join our team in Tees Port. As Waste Barge Deckhand, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, supporting all deck activities in compliance with company procedures, MCA requirements, the Workboat Code and other regulatory standards. Working on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (0700-1900), you will help us deliver a 365-day service, including weekends and public holidays. Occasional overtime may be required. Assisting with the loading and unloading of ship-generated waste on the River Tees and in Hartlepool Conducting vessel husbandry and Health, Safety and Environmental checks, reporting or rectifying faults as required Completing mandatory training to maintain compliance and support your professional development At Svitzer, you’ll join a global maritime organisation with strong local roots. Salary of £29,324.57 per annum and structured rotation supporting work/life balance Up to 20% bonus, based on performance and key performance indicators A strong safety culture and industry-leading equipment Ongoing training and development You will be a motivated and safety-conscious individual with relevant maritime experience and a flexible, team-oriented approach. Valid ML5 or ENG1 Medical Certificate and full STCW Basic Safety certification (A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4 and A-VI/6-1) with a minimum of six months on all certifications. Living within commutable distance of Tees Port Must be willing to undertake additional training where required to support operational needs Forklift licence HIAB (NPORS or equivalent) operator certification Experience on workboats or in a similar maritime environment If you’re ready to be part of a team that values safety, professionalism and collaboration
