Vice President, Risk Management

Hays has partnered with a large Toronto based construction management firm who is looking for a construction executive to come aboard to lead a business unit focused on delivering complex, fast-track, retrofit and high-profile projects across the institutional, commercial and infrastructure sectors. The role is for a Vice President working close to the Vice President of Construction and reporting to the President.
This Vice President will lead and oversee large project teams, owning the strategic direction, operational execution, client management and achieving performance standards from pre-construction through to closeout. They will promote a high-performance culture with a focus on safety, collaboration and continuous improvement. They will mentor and develop senior project staff, fostering growth, accountability and successional readiness. They will contribute to the long term strategic planning and organizational development of the company. Finally, they will review forecasts, cost reports, and project profitability in coordination with directors and the finance team.
The successful Vice President candidate will have 20 years of construction experience in commercial, institutional and infrastructure construction including at least 5 years in a Senior management level role. They will have a track record of completing projects from start to finish with a budget of $40M to $120M+. They will have comprehensive knowledge of CCDC contract forms, risk allocation and claims management and have a strong financial and operational acumen.
Finally they must be proficient with Procore, MS Applications and other enterprise construction platforms.
The successful Vice President candidate will receive a competitive executive package including base salary, bonus and comprehensive benefits.
