Area Manager, Facility & Technology (Senior Management). Full-Time

  • Compensation and bonus will be based on experience in leading multiple business units within the Quick Service Restaurant industry (unit volume and size of employee base are factors).
  • Minimum experience requires past position of senior management in leading restaurant team of 50+ in Canada.
  • Working schedule will include weekday and weekend. 6am-12am. May also require 1 overnight shift per month.
  • Must have own vehicle.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Area Manager, Facilities & Technology will oversee all aspects of equipment, preventative maintenance program/system, restaurant technology, building maintenance and cleanliness. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, financial awareness, and team-building ability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Good understanding of employment standards/practices, food safety, and general safety laws.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and work with restaurant’s janitorial teams.
  • To maintain physical plant of all restaurants ensuring efficient equipment operations that maximize yield performance and equipment longevity
  • Strong knowledge of the technology and digital platforms used in the restaurant and for customers.
  • Maintain safe working environment for customers and employees

VENDOR MANAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain relationships with equipment service vendors and outside services vendors.
  • Provide feedback, review quotes with Area Manager, Operations, and review, approve, or dispute invoices
  • Understand vendor contract’s scope of work, terms, and legal conditions.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE

  • Maintenance and upkeep restaurant building exterior cleanliness & appearance (paint, pressure wash, signages, etc.)
  • Maintenance of restaurant interior cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep.
  • Plan, provide or complete any required minor building repairs (electrical, plumbing, tiling, etc.)

RESTAURANT EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS.

  • Repair equipment - with vendors to when/where needed
  • Refrigeration – with vendor to ensure proper maintenance of equipment and any required repairs
  • Equipment calibrations - with employees and/or vendors

RESTAURANT TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL

  • Up-To-Date and knowledgeable of technology of the restaurant industry
  • Be well-versed of McDonald's technology platforms and restaurant - customer digital applications.
  • Deal with escalation of technology issues of each restaurant.
  • Plan and coordinate with the vendors for technology equipment implementation and repairs.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Monitor and analyze to improve efficiency utilities management/consumption
  • Provide and present business analysis of monthly updates to leadership on facilities related expenditures, budgets, and financial opportunities.
  • Health and Safety – monthly audit of restaurant Safety committees to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2+ years of senior restaurant management experience in multi-unit high-volume locations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of hospitality operations and guest experience standards
  • Experience with POS systems.
  • Good understanding and use of mobile applications
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, WorkSafeBC Fraser Health and restaurant compliance standards
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lead calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Previous experience in Quick Service Restaurant is an asset

COMPENSATION:

$78,000-$90,000 annually plus bonus and incentives and growth opportunities

Salary based on experience and qualifications and for the right candidate.
