Manager - Technical Services and Digital Library

The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.
Reporting to the Library Manager, the incumbent plans, organizes, directs and controls all activities related to computer systems, acquisitions and administration of material and digital resources of the library. They are also responsible for developing the technological component of the library.
Ensure the quality of the services and activities of their department;
Develop policies, standards and procedures related to the creation, processing and dissemination of information.
Determine, in collaboration with their immediate superior, the orientations, objectives and priorities of their sector.
Plan, organize, direct and control activities relating to the management of computer equipment and the operation of databases used on the library’s website.
Manage the deployment and implementation of the library’s computerized or automated systems (software, gateways, databases, contracts and library management tools, ILS, etc.).
Liaise with library service providers.
Manage the human resources under their responsibility (schedule, recruitment, development, training, discipline, evaluation, etc.) Prepare financial reports, budget monitoring, statistics and others at the request of their immediate superior.
The incumbent must have a Master of Library and Information Science (MBSI) or Master of Information Science (MSI). · The position requires fluency in English and French. The jobholder must be able to carry on a conversation, participate in a work meeting and write short texts or internal reports in both languages.· Knowledge of documentation sciences and techniques, issues and trends.· Knowledge of information technologies related to their area of expertise.· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
