Field Service Technician - Industrial Equipment
Our client in Bolton, Ontario specializes in providing industrial equipment for the aluminum and automotive industries. They are currently looking for a Service Technician to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Preventive inspection on overhead cranes on the customer's site;
Repair and maintain equipment at customers' premises;
Modify the lifting/handling equipment according to the customer's needs;
Install and / or start up new equipment;
Produce a service report according to company standards and according to the standards applicable to the lifting/handling field.
Collect information (equipment, post-inspection work) and transmit it to the appropriate people.
Collaborate with customer maintenance teams; Provide training for optimal use, maintenance, etc.
Complete the timesheet, expense account and any other document relevant to the operation;
Produce all the documentation necessary for invoicing from the client's site, in particular work orders, reports, timesheets, expense accounts; Confirm the quality of work before leaving the client site; Be concerned about costs;
Be open to improving your working method; Establish best practices; Share best practices with colleagues;
Be proactive in health and safety by helping to identify, eliminate or control potential hazards; Document the information in Power apps; Report any potentially dangerous situation
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) suitable for the job; Comply with the rules of the company and the rules of our customers;
Requirements:
~ Electromechanical Engineering Technician or Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) or Millwright;
~442A Certification or 309A Certification or entitled to take the exam;
~ Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic;
~ Experience on industrial fields, mandatory;
~ Driver license G, mandatory and without restriction
~ Notions of welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, an asset;
~ Knowledge of CSA B167, an asset
~ Ability to lift loads, spart parts, tools (less than 50 lbs)
~ Ability to lean, rotate on oneself, work on your knees, work in squatting position, work at height and work at arm length;
~ Ability to walk up and down stairs, stepladders, climb vertical ladders.
~ Ability to use basic hand tools and electrical test equipment.
~ Ability to work in all types of conditions. The working conditions vary, but are typical industrial plant environments. Conditions may be hot, cold, noisy, dusty, indoors or outdoors and may require wearing various types of PPE.
~ Ability to travel, mostly driving (could be plane). Majority of travel will be within the GTA but could be elsewhere in Ontario or occasionally in Quebec or within Canada. Typical assignment length ranging from one day to three weeks. Extended stay jobs are possible.
~ Work on variable hours, weekends or/and holidays as necessary; typically, 40 – 45 hr. work week with some extended hours required due to customer requirements (ex: on call); Flexible; can handle schedule changes at a moment’s notice.
