Skate Canada is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media Coordinator. The Social Media Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening Skate Canada's digital presence and engaging audiences through compelling and timely content. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of Skate Canada’s social media channels, including content planning, creation, publishing, community management, and reporting. The successful candidate will be a confident content creator with the ability to capture, edit and publish high-quality content in a fast-paced environment, including live from Skate Canada events. Working closely with teams across marketing, communications and events, the Coordinator will contribute to integrated campaigns and digital storytelling initiatives while helping identify opportunities to grow and strengthen Skate Canada’s online community. This position can be based out of the Skate Canada office in Ottawa, ON at 333 Preston St, where

a hybrid work model. Lead the day-to-day management and execution of Skate Canada’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads and YouTube. Develop, create and publish engaging, platform-specific content that supports Skate Canada’s organizational priorities. Capture and edit high-quality video content for social media, including short-form vertical video, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, event highlights and other digital storytelling initiatives. Attend Skate Canada domestic events and produce timely, engaging live and real-time social media content in a fast-paced event environment. Develop and maintain social media content calendars and coordinate content planning, scheduling and publishing across multiple platforms. Monitor social media performance and audience engagement, analyze key metrics, and prepare regular reports and insights to inform future content. Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications and events, as well as external partners and stakeholders, to ensure social media activities align with organizational goals and priorities. Help maintain a consistent and recognizable brand voice and visual identity across all social media platforms. Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience managing social media channels and creating digital content, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry. Demonstrated experience creating, shooting and editing high-quality video content for social media. Strong proficiency with video editing software and mobile and/or professional content creation tools. Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, with a passion for staying ahead of trends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and compelling content under tight timelines. Bilingual in English and French is a strong asset. Knowledge and experience in the sport of figure skating and/or knowledge of the Canadian sport system is a strong asset. Additional travel for the purposes of meetings, events and communications activities. Ability to work overtime as required, including evenings and weekends to meet the fluctuating needs in a timely manner, particularly during competitions and events. This is a full-time, permanent position. Occasional weekend work and travel may be required to attend meetings and events.
