We are also proud to be named Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2023 Learn more at shn.ca Position OverviewScarborough Health Network is seeking a high energy and dynamic healthcare leader to join its team in an exciting opportunity to serve as Clinical Information System Specialist (CISS) to help support the clinical aspects of the clinical information system. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Clinical Information System. The CISS is responsible for overseeing, creating, and providing direct Epic efficiencies and optimization strategies, including training, supervising clinical and professional practice standards, and developing/and supporting professional expertise in patient care and education to meet the needs of those we serve. ResponsibilitiesServe as a liaison between providers, leadership, HITS, SHN committees, and regional CIS committees to facilitate a common understanding for clinical best practices, workflows, etc.Troubleshoots problems and responds to questions from end users.Communicate changes and enhancements of the Epic electronic health record with users.Provide classroom and one-on-one training by instructing Training Leads, Super Users, End Users and Support Personnel’s.Assist in the development of curriculum, training plans, and teaching Epic applications corporate wide. RequirementsPreferred, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Clinical Informatics or other health discipline or equivalentDemonstrates recent clinical experience and expertise in a hospital setting and an aptitude for healthcare technology systemsDemonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skillsDemonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and publicDemonstrated competency in the following: development of skills assessments, observations, ability to teach, ability to evaluateStrong mentoring, coaching and leadership skills to facilitate change and innovationUnderstanding of professional practice and patient care standards and workflowsExcellent attendance recordPrevious Epic experience or other electronic clinical information systems is an asset Accommodation And Diversity StatementScarborough Health Network (SHN) embraces and celebrates our community’s unique multicultural heritage and diversity.
