Sales representative - Cape Town Branch:
The role includes the selling, renting, delivering and maintaining of portable space units within the Northern Cape area. The candidate should be willing to travel to outlying areas of the Northen Cape. The remuneration package consists of a basic amount and a commission for sales and rentals. A Company vehicle, laptop, cellphone and data package will be provided.

Responsibilities and Duties, overview of the basic tasks of the role:

  • Generate sales and new rentals using various sales methods (door-to-door, cold-calling, presentations, robot drops, online marketing, etc.).
  • Maintain and expand client database within assigned territory.
  • Generate and follow through sales and rentals.
  • Keep in contact by telephone and in person with existing customers.
  • Ensure payment is received from rental customers within the due date.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is received from customers.
  • Plan delivery schedules and deliver units.
  • Maintain rental unit fleet.
  • Ensure excellent after-sales/rental services.
  • Develop a marketing strategy and implement.
  • Implement and maintain an online presence for the Company.
  • Meet revenue targets.
  • Submit regular reporting to your direct manager.
  • If any employee is assigned to you, ensure their time is efficiently utilized.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse with competitors

MARKETING:

  • Develop a marketing strategy and implement and maintain this.
  • Implement and maintain an online presence for the Company.
  • Use the Company social media platforms as a form of advertising, assisted by the marketing department.
  • Ensure there is always enough marketing materials in stock.

TARGET REVIEW:

  • Strive to achieve revenue targets. Show your efforts in attempting to reach targets if not reached.
  • Reporting sales trends and relevant information to your Employer.
  • Meet with your Supervisor every second Monday to discuss targets and other necessary review topics.
  • Furnish your Supervisor with relevant information necessary to allow him to prepare for the fortnightly review.

EMPLOYEES:

  • Ensure the driver(s) and assistant(s) assigned to you always have work to do and their time is efficiently utilized. The number of drivers and assistants may be changed by Management at any time they deem it necessary.
  • Reduce overtime of drivers and assistants where possible.

GENERAL:

  • Watch competitors and the products they are offering.
  • Submit a weekly report to head office.
  • Ensure delivery note is signed by the customer and driving directions and kilometers are completed accurately.
  • Compare the invoiced transport to the actual transport (kilometers driven) and if more than a 10% increase then request an adjustment to the invoice.
  • Implement cost-saving transport routes to save fuel.
  • Any other tasks assigned to you.

The candidate will report to a Sales Manager as well as the Managing Director of the Company.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • The candidate should have the following skills:
  • 3-5 years sales experience, within the construction industry will be advantageous.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and basic maintenance.
  • Physical strength and a hands-on approach is necessary to deliver the units and maintain them.
  • EB License (in order to deliver and collect units).
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge is essential for reporting requirements.
  • As most of the communication between head office and customers is through email and digital task managers, basic computer knowledge is essential.Benefits
