Who we are looking for?

GHD is looking for a Water Treatment Technical Director to join our office located in Vancouver, BC. As the Water Treatment Technical Director, you will lead projects in the Western Canada (WC) Region and support internal Project Managers, throughout the GHD Enterprise, in all aspects of project delivery and business development with a primary focus on building a water treatment practice in WC and coordinating the Technical team to complete the task; control the design path, tackle problems, and hold responsibility for the design. You will also own the contract and construction administration team through construction to achieve the final result.

What you will bring to the team:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university
  • Minimum of 20+ years' of broad and extensive technical, administrative and project experience
  • Technical specialist in water treatment and assessment and design of water treatment and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and linear infrastructure (sewers and force-mains)
  • Experience in leading the design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects within the Water Service Lines
  • Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste, or Transportation Infrastructure industries, either for private or public clients, is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering, capital cost estimating techniques and various construction contracting strategy’s is a definite asset
  • The ability to deal with uncertainty, changing and multiple priorities
  • Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills
