This role is essential in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance across all underground activities.Position ResponsibilitiesAccountabilities and duties will include but not limited to the following:Conduct underground safety inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsMonitor work practices and ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and internal safety standardsProvide on-the-ground coaching and support to underground crews, supervisors, and contractorsParticipate in incident investigations and assist in root cause analysisSupport the development and implementation of site safety programs, procedures, and trainingMaintain safety documentation and prepare reports for leadership and regulatory bodiesCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and other departments to improve safety performance and reduce riskPromote a proactive safety culture and lead by example in all safety mattersPosition OverviewWesdome Gold Mines is seeking a committed and experienced Underground Safety Advisor to join our Health & Safety team at our remote gold mining operation.
