RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and foster a culture of safety, encouraging full participation from all personnel across Canadian operations.
  • Work directly with, educate and build relationships with all levels of field employees to balance environmental, health & safety requirements with production goals to ensure compliance with safety-related regulations, systems and practices.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all provincial occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with management to balance environmental, health, and safety requirements with production goals, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, systems, and practices.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to relevant work practices, policies, applicable legislation, and internal and external resources.
  • Collect and analyze safety data to monitor, evaluate, and advise the organization.
  • Perform random inspections of job sites, facilities, equipment, and vehicles, as well as investigations.
  • Resolve safety-related issues on work sites promptly, providing specific corrective advice to the General Superintendent, Superintendent, Foreman, or worker as appropriate.
  • Recommend safety-related programs, activities, recognition for employees.
  • Manage the documentation and reporting of safety-related records, ensuring compliance with governmental and company requirements.
  • Conduct and maintain company COR Audits/Action Items.
  • Provide various types of Environmental, Health & Safety training to all levels of employees.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • An OHS certificate, diploma, university degree, or related education.
  • 10 or more years of related field experience in a construction environment.
  • NCSO or CRSP (or equivalent) certification is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of work.
  • Familiarity with Federal and Provincial Environmental, Health & Safety regulations.
  • Previous COR audit experience.
  • Willingness to travel onsite.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – combined with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English), proficient in both verbal and written communication.
  • Certification to perform training requirements such as HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and first aid training.
  • Driver’s License Class 5 and a clean driver's abstract.

RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Promouvoir une culture de santé et sécurité, en encourageant la participation de tout le personnel des opérations au Québec.
  • Développer des relations et former tous les niveaux d'employés sur le chantier pour équilibrer les exigences environnementales, sanitaires et sécuritaires avec les objectifs de production afin de garantir la conformité aux réglementations, aux systèmes et aux pratiques liés à la sécurité de l’entreprise.
  • Assurer la conformité organisationnelle à toute la législation provinciale sur la santé et la sécurité au travail.
  • Collaborer avec la direction pour équilibrer les exigences environnementales, sanitaires et sécuritaires avec les objectifs de production, en veillant à respecter les réglementations, les systèmes et les pratiques de sécurité.
  • Démontrer une compréhension approfondie et un engagement envers les pratiques de travail pertinentes, les politiques, la législation applicable, ainsi que les ressources internes et externes.
  • Collectionner et analyser les données de sécurité pour surveiller, évaluer et conseiller l'organisation sur les chantiers.
  • Effectuer des inspections aléatoires et des enquêtes des chantiers, des installations, de l'équipement et des véhicules.
  • Résoudre rapidement les problèmes liés à la sécurité sur les chantiers, en fournissant des conseils correctifs spécifiques au surintendant général, au surintendant, au contremaître ou au travailleur, selon le cas.
  • Recommander aux employés des programmes de prévention, des activités et des reconnaissances liés à la santé et à la sécurité.
  • Gérer la documentation et la déclaration des dossiers (notamment celles de la CNESST), en veillant à respecter les exigences gouvernementales et de l'entreprise.
  • Conduire et maintenir les audits/actions COR de l'entreprise.
  • Fournir différents types de formations en environnement, santé et sécurité à tous les niveaux d'employés.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificat, diplôme, diplôme universitaire ou éducation connexe en SST.
  • 10 ans ou plus d'expérience dans le domaine de la construction.
  • La certification NCSO ou CRSP (ou équivalent) est un atout.
  • Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et à assumer les responsabilités de ce poste.
  • Familiarité avec la réglementation fédérale et provinciale en matière d'environnement, de santé et de sécurité.
  • Expérience préalable en audit COR.
  • Volonté de se déplacer sur les différents chantiers.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication - à la fois écrite et verbale - combinées à d'excellentes compétences interpersonnelles.
  • Bilinguisme requis (français et anglais) ainsi que des compétences dans la communication verbale et écrite dans les deux langues.
  • Certification pour effectuer des exigences de formation telles que HAZWOPER; Entrée et sauvetage en espace clos, et formation de premiers secours.
  • Permis de conduire classe 5 et un dossier de conduite impeccable.
