YOUR ROLE As a Quality Assurance Specialist (Plan Checker), you will be responsible for the quality assurance & quality control of SK Survey Plans received from the CAD department. You will ensure plans are correct and that they conform to Caltech’s high internal standards, Federal, Provincial & Municipal regulations, industry licensing requirements and Land Titles registration requirements. While this position involves reviewing a variety of plan types, you will serve as the primary resource for Legal Survey Plans. Your duties will include: Review plans for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with Caltech and industry standards, including provincial land surveying Acts, the Manual of Standard Practice, and licensing requirements. Verify numerical accuracy through calculations and comparisons, ensuring data is based on the correct governing evidence assessment. Identify and document errors, omissions, and necessary modifications. Ensure correct survey data processing and review land titles, title documents, and Public Land Standing Reports. Communicate with Field Crew and Project Manager for verification and with CAD Technicians to correct plan errors. Complete the Plan Checker Checklist and suggest updates to quality control checklists as needed. Stay current with survey techniques, legislation, and industry codes. Manage workload efficiently to meet project timelines. YOUR SKILLS To be successful in this role, you will need: Diploma in Geomatics Technology, OR Design and Drafting Technology, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Previous experience working on SK survey plans. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3‑D coordinate calculation software. Understanding of ISC regulatory requirements, Western Canada Township setup (DLS), and field survey and traversing. Ability to read and interpret information from survey plans, maps, field notes, and typical job set‑up search results. Active participation in Caltech Group Inc.’s health and safety program. Strong commitment to excellence, attention to detail and time management. It would also be an asset if you had: Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software. An understanding of regulatory requirements of upstream oil and gas related survey work.
