In collaboration with leaders, we take best‑practice processes and systems, adapt them to the current business and environmental dynamics, and educate the team on their application. The Sales Learning & Development Specialist designs, implements, and manages programmes that help employees build skills, enhance performance, and advance their careers. They analyse training needs, create learning plans aligned with business goals, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes. Initially, the role will focus on the continued development and execution of learning plans for sales and sales leaders in the areas of consultative selling, planning, forecasting funnel management, talent acquisition, personal development, and performance. A critical success factor is the ability to merge best practices with current industry realities to equip team members to bring a fresh approach to value creation with our clients and be seen as a trusted partner. Reporting to the Director of TPO, the Specialist will be accountable for the development and execution of all TPO‑related programmes. With a strong background in training development, sales process, facilitation, and programme management, they will collaborate with all areas of the business adopting the TPO practice. Strong communication, instructional design, and writing skills are essential. This is a remote position that may require occasional travel to our corporate office in Edmonton. WHAT YOU WILL DO Developing Learning and Development Programme Sales Planning (Territory, Account, Opportunity) Sales Forecasting and Funnel Management Sales Leadership performance development coaching Tracking and evaluating deliverables, identifying improvement areas, and implementing corrective actions; contributing to program‑evaluation tools to assess content, outcomes, and impact Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Teamwork Facilitate and drive extended team proactive engagement in sales planning and execution to focus Alberta Blue Cross’ capabilities on differentiating customer and market value Collaborate and jointly plan with the extended team to execute on sales and customer targets Internal Client and Partner Relationship Development Built on personal and professional integrity Coordinate and lead extended team partnerships (internal and external) to develop customer‑focused skill development for strategic customers and markets Work with TPO Division Business Leads to execute sales planning engagement and skill development for client and market objectives – e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations and MCX Execute leadership skill development to coach and develop employee competencies per the Sales Leadership Operating Framework Create buy‑in for new and existing initiatives and programmes Continuous Learning and Professional Development Work closely with internal partners to implement best practices in coaching, leadership development, and performance development Continuously develop professional education, skills and experience in sales best practice, future‑focused Professional Conduct Consistently meet internal customer commitments and follow up requirements Act as a team player and maintain strong relationships across the organisation Act in the best interests of the company, customers and community – adhering to ethics, policies, procedures and legislation Understand Alberta Blue Cross strategy and how the portfolio supports the Blue for Life vision WHAT YOU WILL HAVE Post‑secondary degree in a related field such as Adult Education, Human Resources, Communications, Business, or Organizational Development 5+ years of related experience in developing and facilitating training and managing learning programmes Adult Learning certificate and/or curriculum‑development certificate from an accredited institution Experience developing leadership training and resources Ability to clearly articulate messages to audiences at all levels Excellent presentation and facilitation skills Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong active listening Team‑player mindset and ability to collaborate with others Independent work capability within a virtual team Able to establish and maintain strong relationships and influence others toward a common vision or goal Organised, with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics Additional Information This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.
