We look forward to hearing from you.Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Trainee - New Graduate, reporting to the Mechanical Discipline Lead Engineer you will support projects globally working from the Sudbury office with potential opportunities to work in other Hatch offices and at project job sites.The Mechanical groupis comprised of a group of professional engineers, designers and technologists. We are looking for a new or recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our group that is eager to be involved in complex small and large-scale mining and other industrial type projects, who can demonstrate their keen problem-solving skills in developing practical solutions. Our goal is to achieve no harm for our people, our clients, and our communities.As the successful candidate, you will :Work independently applying engineering principles to perform calculations for mechanical equipment design for industrial buildings and processes.Work collaboratively to share the results of your work with senior members of the discipline and / or other Hatch groupsPrepare equipment specification packages, and construction work packages to be checked by senior colleagues to be used by internal and external stakeholdersBecome knowledgeable of various mechanical equipment, analytical software and tools, piping systems and specifications, discipline workflows and execution, and other industrial components / processes you are assigned to assessParticipate in office and site safety training and inductions as needed to support office and site activitiesPerform field verification and provide field support during construction.Willingness and ability to travel and work in other Hatch offices or project work sites (including remote sites) as needs and opportunities ariseYou bring to the role:Must be working towards graduating in 2026, or recently graduated, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the communityPrevious relevant coop and summer work terms or internships in Mechanical engineering is an assetAcademic or work experience with Mechanical software AFT Fathom, Ansys, Sidewinder, MathCAD, and Bentley MicroStation CAD software is an asset.Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projectsAbility to learn quickly and to take on new challengesCollaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsShows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challengesAdapts and embraces changeNote: Applicants must submit a transcript (official or unofficial) upon application.Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsDon't meet every single requirement?
