St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work in a collaborative environment to provide accurate, timely results that support high-quality patient care. STEGH Laboratory Services provides 24/7 support. The Medical Laboratory Technologist plays a critical role in the health care system by collecting, processing, analyzing, and interpreting diagnostic laboratory findings. This position will provide services in the specialties of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Science. Watch this quick video to see why you should apply, clickhere.What You Must Have:Successfully completed a program in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited post-secondary institutionRegistration and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)Computer skills to include the regular use of Outlook, RL6, Cerner, Internet, and Intranet navigationAbility to adapt to changes, use analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining a high standard of professionalismPhysical ability to complete all tasks required of the positionExcellent attendance record with commitment to meet the hours of work required by the Collective AgreementAcceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s Mission, Vision, Values and Code of ConductWhat We Prefer You To Have:A minimum of one (1) year of previous laboratory experience preferably in a hospital settingWorking knowledge of Cerner LISHours:The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department.
