Program Assistant, Community & Supportive ServicesROLE DESCRIPTIONTitle: Program Assistant, Community & Supportive CareClassification: 30 hrs per week (Four 7.5-hour shifts), On-siteWage Range: $24.00 To $26.00 per hourReporting to: Director, Community & Supportive CarePOSITION SUMMARY:St. Joseph’s Hospice is a faith-based organization that provides quality of life at the end of life, offering compassionate holistic care and support to individuals living with a terminal illness. Support is extended to their family members and caregivers, and to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Hospice programs and services are at no cost to those we support and are available irrespective of age, gender, religion, race, ethnicity or economic status.Whether in the community, our wellness centre or our 10-suite residence, St. Joseph’s Hospice provides specialized programs and services with a person-centred approach. Our competent and committed Hospice staff and volunteers work together as a team with other community partners and service providers to provide full support and quality hospice palliative care.Working with an interdisciplinary team,the Program Assistant, Community & Supportive Caresupports the seamless delivery of care within the Hospice, with a particular focus on providing a welcoming and supportive environment for clients, volunteers, and visitors. This important function will support the clients and volunteers of St Joseph’s Hospice through scheduling and providing access to services and activities offered in our Hospice Home and community. Additional duties include providing administrative and data support associated with program delivery.We are pleased to offer the Defined Benefit Pension Plan HOOPP, (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) from first day of employment on a voluntary basis and Insured Benefits (Health, Dental, Life Insurance) after three months employment.Working closely with the Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant will:Provide client inquiry follow-upSchedule client intakesSchedule clients for services and communicate in regard to changes, updates and cancelationsMaintain computerized client records and database entries related to bereavement programsRegister clients for all appropriate services and programsMaintain accurate list of client participation in services and programsEmail/mail Monthly calendar of programs and servicesEnsure client files are created and maintainedOrganize and prepare Wellness Centre including maintenance of treatment rooms, and laundry upkeepProvide comprehensive meeting room scheduling and support including logistical, technological and catering requirementsEnsure accuracy of data entry for reporting purposesRespond to website inquiries in a timely mannerProvide administrative support to the Community & Supportive Care staffWork in collaboration with the Program Coordinator on client intakes, program planning and special eventsOrganize activities and effectively communicate with confidence and professionalismEnsure volunteers work in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulationsOther duties as assigned from time to time.Qualifications & Requirements:Post-secondary diploma Office Administration or similar2+ years relevant work experienceOffice administration experience in a health care setting is preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of attention to detail and results focusedStrong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize workDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and various softwareExperience managing schedules and supporting multiple peopleExperience working with volunteersPhysically able to move furniture and lift up to 40 lbsAbility to be onsite 4 days per week and attend occasional evening/weekend eventsDemonstrated relationship management skills consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.Police Records check for working with vulnerable personsNext Step:If you are passionate, empathetic, and are enthusiastic about being part of an awesome team, then we’d love to hear from you Please submit your resume and cover letter no later than January 19, 2026 to: While we truly appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.St. Joseph’s Hospice is an inclusive employer dedicated to building a diverse workforce.
