Position OverviewWorking as a member of the inter-professional team for weekend coverage, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation and education to the patient, family members and the interprofessional team within a variety of in-patient units. The primary area of assignment will be working with our complex care, mental health and rehab populations. The weekend physiotherapist is scheduled for one Saturday and Sunday shift out of every 4 weekends. Where there is a statutory holiday, this holiday is included as part of the long weekend. The successful candidate will actively participate in regular team meetings, liaising with unit level teams, community-based providers, advocating on behalf of clients and their families and participation in inter-professional patient and family conferences as needed.EducationRegistration and license to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standingM.Sc (preferred) in Physiotherapy or equivalentExperienceRecent experience in acute care hospital-based medicine and geriatric care preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work and function effectively as an interdisciplinary team memberAbility to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environmentStrong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skillsMotivated to practice in accordance with the mission and vision of hospital/health serviceDemonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional developmentExcellent work performance and attendanceAll employees of Michael Garron Hospital agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and contribute to a transparent culture of patient and staff safety by adhering to policies and proceduresAll employees are accountable for protecting the psychological health and safety of themselves and their co-workers through adherence to MGH\'s policies and practicesSeniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionHealth Care ProviderIndustriesHospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
