Senior Business Consultant
Adecco is currently recruiting for a Senior Business Consultant . This is a 2-year Onsite contract opportunity with a possibility of extension. This role is with one of our public sector client based in Ottawa. The successful candidate must have a valid Secret Security Clearance or be eligible for one.
The Senior Business Consultant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Engage with senior management and employees to identify confidentiality, privacy, data management, and record-keeping requirements for the bureau;
  • Conduct focus groups and process improvement sessions with specific service units to understand information management needs;
  • Facilitate discussions and decision-making regarding privacy, confidentiality, data management, and record-keeping;
  • Perform a privacy impact assessment (PIA) following departmental and TBS Directive on Privacy Impact Assessment guidelines;
  • Identify risks in information handling practices and provide recommendations to mitigate them;
  • Develop confidentiality, privacy, data management, and record-keeping policies aligned with Treasury Board policies and GAC’s information management strategy;
  • Advise on strategic planning and clarify privacy obligations for the Office of the Well-being Ombud and Inspector General;
  • Design and conduct training sessions on policy implementation and create materials for onboarding;
  • Provide guidance to staff on privacy, access to information, and data management issues;
  • Support communication efforts on privacy and information management policies and collaborate with other governmental services to establish best practices;

The Senior Business Consultant must meet the following mandatory requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Privacy Law, or related disciplines;
  • Proven experience in engaging with senior management and employees to identify confidentiality, privacy, data management, and record-keeping requirements;
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to conduct focus groups and process improvement sessions to understand information management needs;
  • Familiarity with privacy impact assessment (PIA) methodologies and experience in performing PIAs following departmental and TBS Directive on Privacy Impact Assessment guidelines;
  • Ability to identify risks in information handling practices and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate them;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in policy development, particularly in crafting confidentiality, privacy, data management, and record-keeping policies aligned with Treasury Board policies and organizational information management strategy;
  • Experience in designing and conducting training sessions on policy implementation, along with creating relevant materials for onboarding;
  • Strong knowledge of privacy laws, access to information regulations, and data management best practices;
  • Proven ability to support communication efforts on privacy and information management policies, including collaboration with other governmental services to establish industry best practices;
