Reporting to the Sr. Vice‑President, SHES, this role owns and leads and continuously improves the SHES data management, reporting, analysis, system governance, and second‑line assurance activities across Nutrien’s global operational footprint. The Director fosters a high‑performance, safety‑first culture of the team by investing in talent development, workforce engagement, and collaboration. This role champions risk‑based assurance and decision making in support of continuous improvement of SHES performance across the Company. The Director will establish and maintain enterprise‑wide requirements and solutions that ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of SHES data to support timely and credible reporting for internal and external stakeholders; analyze and translate SHES performance data into actionable insights for leadership to consider in our pursuit of SHES performance excellence; lead the execution of a risk‑based second‑line assurance program focused on process safety management and material SHES risk governance; and direct the selection, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHES information systems and digital tools in collaboration with the Technology Function and SHES sub‑functions, ensuring alignment with Nutrien’s strategies. What You’ll Do Establish, govern and continuously enhance the SHES data management and reporting elements of the Nutrien Way (integrated management system), while also maintaining and improving the second‑line SHES assurance program to support effective mitigation of material risks. Oversee the integrity, security, and accessibility of SHES data across the company to ensure accurate, timely and transparent reporting of performance insights for internal and external stakeholders. Analyze SHES data to identify trends and insights (risks and opportunities) to inform improvement opportunities for leadership’s consideration. Support the development and maintenance of SHES performance metrics, dashboards, and performance benchmarking. Manage the execution of the formal risk‑based second‑line assurance program centered on process safety management and the management of material SHES risks across the company. Govern the selection, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHES information systems and digital tools in partnership with the Technology Function and other SHES sub‑functions. Facilitate training and capability‑building on SHES systems, data management, and assurance processes. Collaborate with other SHES sub‑functions and business partners to ensure alignment and integration of reporting, assurance, and systems activities with overall SHES strategy and objectives. What You’ll Bring Minimum 15 years of experience working within safety, health, environment and security functions within complex organizations. Leadership experience with at least 5 years leading teams with demonstrated delivery of significant achievements across multiple operations and geographies. Proven exposure to assurance programs and delivery of large‑scale change initiatives that have resulted in sustained performance improvement. Proven experience managing the development and maintenance of SHES related data requirements, reports and dashboards, systems, and assurance programs. Demonstrated capability to analyze data for insights that inform strategic improvement. Sound collaboration, communication and engagement skills. Experience working in the agricultural, mining, oil and gas, chemical processing, or construction industries. Technical systems and analytical capabilities used to the context of SHES performance.
