Join North York General to accelerate your career Position Summary Social Worker, Adult Mental Health – Adult Eating Disorders Program. As a Social Worker, you will be a fully integrated member of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. You will provide individual, family and group therapy using best practices in the program. You can work independently and in a team setting, setting priorities, organizing and coordinating activities. You have experience with clients with eating disorders, program development, implementation, evaluation, statistical record keeping, and community resources. You possess skills in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and brief therapies. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. It also contributes to ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families. Responsibilities Work in accordance with regulatory standards and professional practice guidelines, policies and procedures for North York General Hospital and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in individual and group therapy modalities. Perform Social Work duties as required to meet the needs of the patient/client population. Maintain updated knowledge of community resources, identify gaps in service and respond to client and community needs. Collaborate effectively as a member of the health care team and take initiative and leadership when appropriate. Guide patients in the development of a crisis plan supporting their wellness and recovery while attending the Adult Eating Disorder Program and at discharge. Participate in program planning, implementation and evaluation. Develop and maintain effective linkages with hospital and community service providers. Educate staff, students and the community. Qualifications Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Master of Social Work or equivalent. Membership in good standing or eligibility for membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or equivalent. Minimum 1‑2 years of mental health experience. Preference given to candidates with experience working with clients with eating disorders. Knowledge and work experience with DBT preferred. Working at NYGH This is a Part‑Time Regular position with 8‑hour shifts, day shifts, no weekends, in the Adult Mental Health – Adult Eating Disorders Program, Branson Site.
