Senior GIS Analyst

This role combines GIS Analyst and GIS development skills to assist with modernizing our GIS Architecture and expanding the GIS teams capability.Position DescriptionDevelop, maintain, and optimize GIS data, layers, and map products using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Network Analyst, and ArcGIS Online.Create, publish, and manage web and field applications (i.e. Collector, Field Maps, Dashboards).Conduct spatial analysis and data modeling to support routing, service planning, and business decisions.Produce high-quality map series for operational and customer reporting.Maintain data accuracy and version control across multiple project areas and municipalities.Work with inter-discipline teams to align GIS efforts with business objectives.Maintain schedules, deliverables, and priorities across multiple active projects.Support data integration with business systems such as Data Warehouse and ERP systems.Technically support Jr GIS staff, ensuring quality control and technical knowledge sharing.Skills & QualificationsPost-secondary education in GIS, Geography or a related field.Minimum 5 years of professional GIS experience.ESRI Certifications or training.Expert using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Network Analyst.Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.Experience with FME, ETL tools, and spatial modelling.Familiarity with web GIS frameworks (Leaflet, OpenLayers) and RESTful APIs.Strong understanding spatial data management, and data conversion workflows.Demonstrated experience producing operational maps and managing field applications.Knowledge of waste and recycling operations or municipal infrastructure is an asset.Ideal CandidateProactive and Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative and the ability to balance precision with practicality in all tasks.Ownership and Accountability: Takes pride in assignments, assumes full responsibility for deliverables, and actively shares lessons learned and knowledge with colleagues.Detail-Oriented and Accurate: Enjoys working with complex details and consistently strives for accuracy and quality in outputs.Collaborative and Growth-Oriented: Committed to personal development and supporting the growth of team members while contributing to the advancement of the GIS program.Strategic and Technical Mindset: Combines a passion for GIS with a vision for shaping the long‑term direction of the department.Business‑Aware: Understands the operational pressures of a fast‑paced environment and adapts effectively to changing priorities.Reasons to Apply, Stay and Grow with Emterra GroupOpportunity to be part of one of Canada’s Greenest EmployersCompetitive wagesComprehensive health benefits (drug, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance)Employee Assistance Program, paid for by the CompanyTuition reimbursement program and professional development supportBe part of an entrepreneurial organization that wants to continue to learn and growAbility to have an impact and make changeSalary range -($95,000 - $105,000)Are you ready to jumpstart your career by joining one of Canada’s Greenest Employers and become part of the environmental solution?
