Position Electrician (Plant Operations & Maintenance) Reports To Electrical Manager Shift 12‑hour continental shift Compensation and Benefits Starts at $50.61 per hour, with yearly increases in October. Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required. The position supports production operators, demanding strong communication and team commitment, flexibility, and a proactive attitude. Location Oakville/Mississauga area, unionized. Shift work is required. What You’ll Be Contributing Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. Effective interpersonal and team skills. Mathematics, oral, and written communication at the trade journeyman level. Flexibility, innovation, and thoroughness. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise work, and work under pressure. Safety‑minded, reliable, environmentally aware, and quality conscious. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements for Success Perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Post‑secondary education is an asset. Valid Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A). Proof of Apprenticeship. Experience with outside vendors and outsourced contractors. Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers. Basic understanding of manufacturing operations. Related maintenance and repair practice knowledge. Valid driver’s licence. Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Physically able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and work on platforms.
