Binnie is looking for a Design Engineer to join our Burnaby Infrastructure Division, which delivers infrastructure planning, design and construction services for water, storm, sanitary, streets and transportation, and water resources assignments.

This is a full-time position in our Burnaby office, located near Highway 1 and the Kensington Avenue Interchange near scenic Deer Lake.

You will be working with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers on a wide range of capital municipal projects. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach and offer an environment to flourish.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Preparing civil engineering design work, from the conceptual level through to detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD / Civil3D
  • Preparing and reviewing design calculations in accordance with current standards
  • Maintaining design files with necessary calculations and documentation
  • Preparing design reports, letters and technical memorandums
  • Performing on-site inspection duties
  • Supporting Project Managers with the delivery of assignments
  • Undertaking quality control procedures and monitoring design standards on completed work
  • Directing staff involved with the design process

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 4-8 years of design experience in a civil consulting engineering environment
  • Completed Degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Registration as a P.Eng with EGBC
  • Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred
  • Strong design, communication and time management skills and ability to work concurrently on several different projects
  • Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, high quality work
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, other consultants and contractors
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment
