Nortech is looking to hire a Crane and Mobile Equipment inspector with minimum of Magnetic Particle examination schooling, preferably an MT2 CGSB ticket. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results Organize and report test results Perform specialized inspections May instruct and supervise others Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent CGSB Level II Certification in MT. Additional certification to CWB, PT, or UT is an asset Technical background in NDT methods and procedures Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections Knowledge of NDT equipment OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Possess team leadership, management and business administration capabilities and with very good negotiation and communication skills. Strong work ethic Exceptional attention to detail Dependable Exceptional safety and quality awareness Mechanical aptitude Adaptable to changing schedules Team work Ability to follow directions and procedures Willingness to travel up to 20% PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
