Qualifications Minimum of a two (2) year Diploma or Certificate as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA), or a Rehabilitation Assistant is required from an accredited college. Current BCLS required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in an acute care environment. Skills/Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of recovery and patient-centered approaches. Demonstrated ability to assist in the development and maintenance of a therapeutic environment. Demonstrated ability to instruct and guide patients through recommended treatment and activity programs both individually and in groups. Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Meditech Expanse and Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook). Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines. Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information. Must demonstrate commitment to ensure personal safety, safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors. Ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events required. Must demonstrate good attendance. Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
