We’ve opened a role in our Timmins office for a talented, entrepreneurial Architect to work alongside exceptional people in JLR’s Architectural group. Pop Quiz: Are you an OAA licensed Architect with at least 5 years of experience and a passion for excellence in architecture and design? Do you have a strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 3), CCDC 2 2020, and a strong understanding of building envelope systems? Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and business development experience (sales, marketing, and proposal writing)? Your Role as an Architect: Choose your own adventure Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As the Architect, your role will include: Providing architectural design and contract administration related to a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial construction projects. Leading projects and design teams while working alongside the Director of Architecture and JLR leadership group to drive projects forward. Collaborating with team members as part of an integrated project team, including execution, design, and reporting. Engaging through all project stages, from the definition, through planning, design, and construction, using your demonstrated abilities to recognize opportunities, understand client needs and manage and deliver projects. Liaising with clients, engagement and leadership of the business, and client development activities. Participating in the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications, contract documents and budget estimates. Completing Ontario Building Code and National Building Code reviews. Stamping architectural working drawings, reports, etc. Preparing design budgets, managing projects, staff, and design fees. Travelling between JLR offices across Ontario and Canada to meet the needs of various projects and/or training purposes. Why Join Us?
