We are currently seeking candidates to fill an existing vacancy for the position of Environmental Scientist/Engineer within our Contaminant Remediation Group.At Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Toronto (Downtown), Chatham, London, Guelph, Kitchener, Windsor, Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, Oakville and North York (Toronto).ResponsibilitiesManage environmental projects including site assessment and remediation, risk assessment and risk management, and regulatory compliance monitoringProvide technical and professional leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams including engineers, scientists and technologistsAbility to design remediation programs or risk management measures for impacted soil, groundwater, and soil vapour at contaminated sitesLiaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, subconsultants, and subcontractorsContribute to the development and coordination of client relationships and business growthContribute to client/revenue acquisition and internal team growth to deliver the businessContribute to business development activities including proposal preparation and presentationsBusiness travel upon requestLearning & DevelopmentCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualificationsA degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or environmental science, preferably at the master’s levelLicensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist or eligible to be licensed within 6 monthsExperience with a range of client types preferred (e.g., federal government departments, private industrial clients, municipalities, first nations)Proven Project Management experienceA minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experienceValid driver’s licenseExperienceDemonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellent client relationshipsProficient in the completion of one or more of:groundwater resource evaluation, protection and managementphased site assessmentssolid understanding of contaminant fate and transport in the subsurface and the development of conceptual site modelremedial options analysis and evaluationremedial action plan development and/or designpreparation of detailed designs, cost estimates and tender packages for remediation projectsdesign and implementation of compliance monitoring plansDemonstrated track record of successfully managing environmental projectsDemonstrated track record of successfully mentoring and developing more junior staffKnowledge of relevant environmental legislation, codes and standardsStrong report writing, communication, organization and interpersonal skillsCompensationCompensation:$92,450 - $142,450Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region.
